The Continuing Education Center (CEC) at the Royal University of Phnom Penh develops and offers a variety of university-level courses, workshops, seminars and conferences for adult learners who seek to expand their intellectual interests, to improve and broaden their professional preparation, or simply to advance their university degree aspirations.
The CEC at RUPP was established with financial and technical support from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and Simon Fraser University, Canada. This institutional partnership project also includes Chulalongkorn University of Thailand, and the National University of Laos.
CEC’s non-traditional learning activities are developed with sensitivity to the changing interests and needs of Cambodian communities in a rapidly diversified economy, and seek to address the challenges of today’s knowledge-based society. The CEC’s programs and courses respond to the educational needs of adults which are not addressed through the traditional credit programs and curriculum of RUPP.
Programs and courses are scheduled and organized to remove constraints of time and accessibility that might burden adult learners and limit their access to learning opportunities. Programs and courses are offered throughout the year either on campus or at the workplace, depending on learners’ needs. Our programs incorporate new educational technologies, models and formats to ensure access to advanced learning. Programs offered through the Continuing Education Center are accessible and responsive to rapid change, providing a real-life link between the university and the community.
CEC partners with the public and private sector by establishing programs to improve personal skills, training and education, thus further helping to link
