Program
Currently, the CEC offers the following programs:
1. The iBT TOEFL Preparation
This program is designed for those who intend to take the new iBT TOEFL test in order to apply for scholarships to study overseas or for employment purposes. The course takes place over 70 hours and covers all the skills necessary for the new iBT TOEFL examination.
2. Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages
The program is for practicing teachers, private tutors or prospective teachers who intend to teach in ESL/EFL situations. It aims to develop their teaching skills and familiarize them with recent issues and trends in TESOL methodology. The course emphasizes the practical aspects of TESOL with essential theoretical knowledge.
3. Presentation Skills
The main aim of this skill is to help university students to improve their presentation skills through strategies and techniques for preparing and delivering successful presentations.
4. Teaching Professional Development for Teachers of English
This effective course provides Cambodian teachers of English with modern language teaching technologies and other teaching skills to help them improve their teaching performance and confidence in the classroom.
5. Computer Hardware Repair
The Computer Hardware Repair program seeks to provide students of all ages, backgrounds, and professions with skills in repairing computer hardware, including monitors, printers, scanners, CD-ROMs, DVD-ROMs, computer power supply, motherboards, and some parts of laptop computers. This program not only trains students to work in computer hardware repairs, but also teaches students aspects of computer science theories which relate to hardware.
6. IT for Specific Purposes
This non-degree course is designed for students, instructors and staff who have considerable difficulties using the computer technology they require at work. It is especially targeted at those with trouble using Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, the Internet and Email. The course also introduces participants to basic web design using HTML, JavaScript and Adobe Photoshop.
