Introduction

The Center for Population Studies (CPS) is the only research and training center in Cambodia to specialize in providing training on a broad range of population-related issues, including population change, migration, reproductive health, gender, development, health, education, and labor force participation.

The Center for Population Studies was established in June 2001 as a research and training center specializing in the issues of demography, population, and development by a Prakas of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS). Initially, CPS operated under UNFPA, and conducted three sequential projects on Demography and Population Education from 1995 to 2005, with technical support from CERPAA, the University of Louvain in Belgium, the Australian National University and ESCAP in Bangkok. The CPS is now a part of the Royal University of Phnom Penh.
