Training and Research Projects

1. Training Series in Population Studies 2002-2005, funded by UNFPA. Activities included translating materials, writing a text in population studies, publishing two editions of a trilingual glossary on demography and conducting intensive training courses of 45 hours each, entitled Basics in Population Studies; Population Studies; and Population and Development.

2. Gender Mainstreaming and Decentralization, funded by BTC, in collaboration with the Women’s Association for Community Development. Location: Kampot. Activities: training of trainers.

3. National Training on Gender Analysis for Urban Environmental Management, funded by CIDA-AIT in partnership with Southeast Asia Urban Environmental Management Applications (SEA-UEMA) project based at the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. Location: Phnom Penh.

4. CPS staff research papers on fertility; migration; labor force participation; trends in and status of ICT in Cambodia; gender, science and technology (GST) in Cambodia; and female-headed households and community fisheries management in Cambodia.

Information Services
The CPS houses a library in Room 308. This library holds about five thousand books and research journals on the subject of population studies, as well as reports on Cambodia population from various data sources. The library is open to students and faculty of the Royal University of Phnom Penh.
