Library Collection
The library has some leading collections of over 65,000 items including its audio and visual collection which includes video and audio cassettes and CD/VCD that are in Khmer, English, French, Japanese, Thai, Chinese and Vietnam. The major parts of library collections are in English and Khmer.
All library items are arranged according to Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC). The following are some examples of some major DDC classification notation and subjects of Khmer related topics.

The library collections of the Hun Sen Library are sub-divided into various collection to best meet the needs of library users. They are the Cambodiana Collection, Reference Collection, Reserve Collection, Loan/General Collection, Education Resource Collection and Periodical Collection.
Cambodiana Collection
This is a non-borrowable collection that holds any item whose nature of content is about Cambodia, either in part or as a whole. This includes, but not limit to, the culture and civilization, history, geography, education, literature, the government publication as well as the contemporary development issues of Cambodia. Some of its major contents to date are: Speeches of His Majesty King Norodom Sihanouk, The Royal Bulletin (1952-1970), UNTAC election documents (1993), manuscripts of palm leaves, tripitaka, and the Kampuchea Soriya periodical. This collection specifically designed to make it convenient for those who want to learn and research about Cambodia. This collection is located on the mezzanine level to the West of the building in an A/C room with seating for quiet reading. Because the nature of this collection is highly valued, users are not allowed to take any item out of the room (without permission from the librarian) and also any item that does not belong to this collection is not allowed to bring in.

Education Resource Collection
This collection was initiated in 2009 by a group of people who are working in the field of education in Cambodia. The purpose is to collection all Cambodian education related documents to serve the needs of those researchers who are interested in learning and researching about the Cambodian education. The purpose is also to make the Hun Sen Library become a central point for this type of materials. Over thousands of titles of documents have been collected and they have been both catalogued and digitized. The printed copies are available for use while the digital ones will be available online in the near future. This collection is part of the Cambodiana Collection, but some items are borrowable. Please contact the librarian if you need to borrow items under this collection.
Reference Collection
This is also a non-borrowable collection that contains various important reference materials such encyclopedia, atlas, dictionaries, directories, maps, and other key materials whose nature of contents are to serve for quick referencing and research. This collection is located on entry level to the East of the building.

Reserve Collection
This is a limited loan collection that is allowed for a short period of time. It contains course related materials that have been reserved by the faculty members of the university. This collection is located on the entry level and in the South-East wing of building by the stairs to the mezzanine level.
CD-Room, CD/DVD collection
Serials Collection
This is a non-borrowable collection that holds over 130 items including scholarly journals, magazines, newspapers and bulletins that are both locally produced and from abroad. The major parts of this collection are in Khmer and English. This collection is located on the mezzanine level of the building to the East.

Loan/General Collection
All items under this collection are borrowable and they are located on the entry level of the building. As indicated earlier, these items are arranged according to the DDC number. For items whose subjects are classified under 000 – 499 located on the North-East wing of the building; 500 – 699 located on the South-East wing; and the 700 – 999 located on the South-West wing of the library.
