The Quality Assurance Unit at the Royal University of Phnom Penh undertakes a systematic, structured, and continuous program to ensure a high standard of teaching and research by the university’s departments and staff. It also works to ensure the maintenance and gradual improvement of all quality standards. In addition to coordinating all internal university quality assurance, the QAU also prepares RUPP’s departments and degrees for external ministerial accreditation. A well functioning system of Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) is necessary to ensure a high standard of education at any university.
The RUPP Quality Assurance Unit (QAU) was established at the recommendation of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, with the endorsement of the RUPP Executive Board, in 2002.
Since that time, the Quality Assurance Unit has implemented practical and effective methods to measure and improve academic quality at RUPP. Students now routinely complete surveys about course content and delivery, providing feedback which helps target Quality Assurance programs within the university. Once a high standard has been achieved, submissions are made to outside accreditation agencies, including the Accreditation Committee of Cambodia (ACC), by which RUPP can reach the highest standards of a fully accredited university
