This course builds students’ understanding of basic political economy by explaining various theories of production and practical economic processes, including how prices are determined and how national income is distributed. In addition, this course examines and explains inflation, recession, monetary and fiscal policy, and economic growth.

This course is designed to help students make informed, ethical choices about moral problems within their professional and personal lives. This course informs, challenges and provokes students interested in what people have had to say about politics in the last two-and-a-half thousand years. In addition to a general survey of political ideas, this course seeks to provide students with answers to questions about politics, law, state, power, justice, property, liberty, equality, leadership, and about why politics matters.
HPP204 Research Methodology

In this course, students learn essential research skills, enabling them to become more adept in scientific and analytical inquiries, quantitative and qualitative investigations and library research, particularly in the field of philosophy. Students also learn to use evidence to support their writing, and the correct way to reference and cite such material.
HPP208 Chinese Philosophy

Year II, Semester II
This subject examines the principal modes of Chinese thought, from their origins through to the imperial period. Students explore the unique characteristics of Chinese thought over three millennia, from Confucius through to Mencius, Lao Tzu, Chung Tzu, and finally Mao Tse Tung. The development of Chinese thought and philosophy is traced alongside Chinese tradition and culture, leading students to a deeper understanding of the cultural background from which modern communist China has emerged.
HPP211 History of Cambodian Political Thought

This unit of study examines the growth and development of political ideas in Cambodia, from the Funan period to the present.
