Introduction

The “Mapping Health Centres in Phnom Penh” project was conducted by the IT Center, Royal University of Phnom Penh team under a grant from Google.org. The project makes use of the mapping tools (Google Earth/Map) available by Google to provide a geospatial perspective in locating hospitals and health care centres and providing information (e.g. number of beds, doctors, medical specialization) related to hospitals and health centres in Phnom Penh. The principle objectives of the project are to encourage young Cambodian students to pay attention to communication technology through IT and to improve the healthcare service for both local and foreigners by means of Information Technology.
