Background

At the invitation of the Rector of Royal University of Phnom Penh, the Bishops’ Conference of Italy’s Third World Aid Committee and the NGO New Humanity committed to financially supporting a Masters-level sociology degree at RUPP. A Curriculum for this course was developed in collaboration with academic experts from the Universities of Trento, Bologna and Trieste. On 24 January 2004, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, RUPP and New Humanity signed an agreement, and the Masters Program in Sociology-Anthropology was approved by MoEYS under Prakas No. 1223, on 1 September 2004.
