Outcames and Outputs

Outputs:

  1. Technology demonstration for low cost as well as chemical free arsenic removal from groundwater- A full scale pilot plant will be installed for technology demonstration and hands-on training in target villages.
  2. Development of curriculum at the undergraduate and postgraduate level at RUPP on groundwater treatment and use.Initiating research in groundwater treatment.
  3. Training of staffs and students of RUPP as well as volunteers at the community level in groundwater treatment and use.

Outcomes:

  1. Capacity building for the use of technology at two different levels. RUPP will absorb the process design for supporting replication of the plant for rural user communities, while the rural communities will learn the operation and maintenance of the plants.
  2. Revamping the existing water and wastewater treatment course at RUPP to incorporate novel groundwater treatment technologies. Publication of at least 2 research papers in peer reviewed journals.
  3. The training at least 250 new undergraduate and postgraduate students in groundwater engineering and another 250 community people in the proposed low cost arsenic removal methods over the next 3 years.
