Introduction
Cambodia is still a largely an agricultural country but it is at the beginning of its industrialization phase. People with advanced knowledge and research skills are fundamental to national development but Cambodia is lacking many of the human resources necessary to achieve this.
RUPP is the only university in Cambodia that provides education in basic sciences such as chemistry and is the logical place to establish a course of postgraduate education in chemistry. Compared with regional neighbors, Cambodia is lacking chemists trained in using analytical instruments and research. There is a need for more scientists and technicians in institutions of higher education, ministries and industry. This course has been designed to fulfill these needs.
