Activities

The Department of Japanese has a lot of activities that students can participate in, such as the Japanese Department’s Speech Contest, Sport Day, Sakura Caravan, and exchange meetings with Japanese university students.

For the Japanese Department’s Speech Contest, students are required to write an essay and present it via speech. By doing so, students will be able to express knowledge and opinions they have regarding matters related to Cambodia and Japan. This Speech Contest divides students into two groups. Students who have never been to Japan and those who used to go to Japan. The winners in both groups will get a trophy and a certificate. Besides that, winner in the group who has never been to Japan will have a chance to go to Japan, short term as a study tour.

Sport Day is a day which all students from year 1 to year 4 join to have friendly outdoor games together. Not only that lead students to know each other and have a strong connection. They can also get to know Japanese traditional sports and games profoundly. It is a good way to relax from the study as well.

Sakura Caravan is a program to promote Japanese language education and culture to high school students across the country. To do so, Japanese language lecturers, students from Japanese Departments, and volunteers visit various areas throughout Cambodia to provide Cambodian students with opportunities to understand Japanese culture, technology, and other benefits in Japanese language education.
