Staff

To initially develop the I.T. Center, four academics from other departments within the Faculty of Science, who have been involved and participated in a number of research projects and relevant research fields, will work as researchers and instructors.

Core Staff

Mr.Phal Des

B.Sc. (Mathematics), RUPP, 1992; Diplôme d'Etudes Spéciales en informatique Appliquée aux Science de L’Education, Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium), 1998. He has a D.E.S in Applied Computer Science to Education and spent over 3 years of research in Auto-Learning and Auto-Evaluation, the Univertité Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in Belgium. As Counterpart of the Center of the International Cooperation for Computerization (CICC), DES is the Chief of IT Committee of EIC and teaching a computer graphics, UID and Applied Internet Programming (AIP) to Master and Bachelor at Royal University of Phnom Penh.

Mr. Ngorn Moi

NGORN Moi received bachelor degree of science in Physics and Computer Science at Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP), Cambodia since 2003.

He took the exam to study in pedagogy to become an IT-Math lecturer at National Institute of Education. He was appointed to be a lecturer at RUPP in October 2004 and promoted as the position of Deputy Director of IT center at RUPP since 2011 until now. As Deputy Director of IT Center, he is responsible for mange IT issue/fault, operating network for the university. In the year 2006, he received Master of Information Technology at RUPP in the first generation. He has been joined the seminar of IT instructional at YONSEI University of South Korea was sponsored by KOICA. He subsequently got oversea experience for 3 months in Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey that supported by Erasmus Mundus Mobility with Asia (EMMA). In the year 2011, he got the scholarship of EMMA for master degree of Embedded Systems at Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu of Romania for 2 years.

Dr. Kong Marry

received his B.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the Royal University of Phnom Penh, Phnom Penh, Cambodia in 2002. In 2004, he went to Waseda University in Tokyo City, where he majored in Network Engineering with a specialty in TCP/IP over satellite communications at Graduate School of Global Information and Telecommunication Studies and graduated with a M.Sc. in 2006. He subsequently obtained his Ph.D. degree from the Graduate School of Global Information and Telecommunication Studies, Waseda University in 2011. His study at Waseda University is supported under the scholarship of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT) of Japanese Government. His professional career was started with a position as a network administrator at PCSP Group Co., Ltd. from 2002 to 2004. He later was serving as a visiting researcher at the Graduate School of Global Information and Telecommunication Studies of Waseda from October 2009 to March 2010. At the meantime, he joined the Graduate Program of IT Engineering at Royal University of Phnom Penh, Cambodia, where he has been giving a series of lectures on Advanced Network Computing and Network Simulations and Analyses from October 2009. Kong Marry has been invited to be a reviewer of international conferences such as the 20th IEEE-PIRMR 2009. He served as a local arrangement chair of the Second International Conference on Intelligent Systems, Modeling and Simulation (ISMS) 2011 held in Malaysia and Cambodia and as a program committee at the 5th Asia Modeling Symposium (AMS 2011). In 2011, he serves as the General Co-Chair of Japan-Cambodia Joint Symposium on Information Systems and Communication Technology 2011 (JCAICT 2011) held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. He received distinguished paper award at the JCAICT 2011. In 2011, he was also invited as a Guest Editor of International Journal of Simulations: Systems, Science and Technology (IJS3T). His current research interests are satellite communications, high altitude platform station (HAPS) communications, cross-layer adaptation and optimization, wireless IP, radio access protocols and algorithms and wireless propagation and channel modeling.

Dr. Srun Sovila

Mr. Khoy Saovorak

Ing. KHOY Saovorak, Royal University of Phnom Penh lecturer and researcher, who got master degree from Group T-International University College Leuven, Belgium in the field of e-Media. e-Media is a field study on how to develop an interaction application in which user can interact more with application. Beside the academic achievement, He has been worked in the private sector for more than 5 years in the field of software development such as database development, client-server/web application development and etc. Moreover, his research interest mainly is focusing on modeling and simulation, data optimization and software engineering.

Ms. Rim Beanbonyka

Graduated a Bachelor of Computer Sciences (RUPP, Cambodia) in 2007, and Master in E-Media (GroupT – International University, Leuven, Belgium) in 2010. She is currently a lecturer and researcher. Her research interests are 3D Modeling, Computer Graphics, Image Processing, and User Interface Design.

Mr. Heng Sokha

received his B.Sc. degree in Computer Science from Royal University of Phnom Penh in Cambodia in 2009. In 2009, he got scholarship to study informatics at University of Heidelberg in Germany for one-year exchange program. In 2010, he went to Waseda University at Tokyo city by support of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT) of Japanese Government. At Waseda University, he majored in Cognitive Radio Network at Graduate School of Global Information and Telecommunication Studies and successfully graduated with a M.Sc in 2012. His research interests are Cognitive Radio Network, Wireless Local Area Network, Computer Graphics, and 3D Modeling.

Ms. Sok Sikieng

Sikieng received a M.Sc. degree from Graduate School of Global Information and Telecommunication Studies, Waseda University (Japan) in 2012. She has published 6 papers including two international journal papers, 2 international conference papers and 2 local conference papers so far. In 2011, she was selected as a finalist for the Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship and Award in Asia. In 2010, she was awarded the Honda Young Engineer and Scientist Plus (YES Plus) for her continuance in academic achievement in science and technology. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with Highest Honour from the Royal University of Phnom Penh (Cambodia) in 2009. For her outstanding performance, the degree was awarded to her by the Prime Minister of Cambodia. In 2008, she was selected as one of the only four outstanding students for the Honda YES in Cambodia in recognition of her accomplishment in science and technology. Ms. SOK is very passionate about science and technology and is committed to help girls to pursue their studies in this field. She is one of the founders of Girls Leading in Development and Engineering (GLIDE) in Japan. Her research interests include Intra-body Communication, Short-range Area Network, Data Analysis, Khmer Localization, and Web Development.

Mr. Var Puthnith

Studying Bachelor of Computer Science and Engineering, Royal University of Phnom Penh(RUPP),(Year 4). I am a developer who are good at programming, web developing and designing, and Video Editing such as C\C++, Java, Visual Basic .NET, C#, ASP.NET, PHP, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effect, Sony Vegas, Simulation and Modeling, and Artificial Intelligence.

Mr. Nuon Chandarong

In 2011, he received his Bachelor in Computer Science from Royal University of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. At the end of 2011, he received an Erasmus Mundus scholarship to study master degree exchange program at Université de Nice Sophia Antipolis, France for 6 months. Currently, he is study master degree at Waseda University, Japan under Japanese government scholarship (MEXT).

Mr. Hok Sotha

Bachelor of Computer Science and Engineering, Royal University of Phnom Penh, 2011. He got scholarship to study informatics at Université de Nice Sofia Antipolis in France for six-month exchange program in 2011. Currently he is studying master degree of Global Information and Telecommunication Studies, Waseda University, Japan.
